Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a revolutionary development in Architecture-Engineering-Construction (AEC) industry. Heritage management is experiencing a process of change in recent decades. There is a trend that many countries start to use BIM technology to manage their heritages gradually. This study will propose a novel approach, heritage building information modelling (HBIM), to manage the heritages in Macau. The study includes modelling, structural analysis and information documentation of the heritage. First, an experimental model will be carried out for presenting the HBIM procedures. A case study of Guia Chapel is followed for verifying the feasibility of this approach. The structural behaviour of Guia Chapel will be examined and investigated by computer software. The information used for modelling and analysis will be based on accessible documents. Reasonable assumptions will be made for missing information such as building dimension and material properties of the heritage. Apart from modelling and analysis, information documentation of the heritage will also introduce in this study. The study found out that the proposed HBIM approach is suitable for Macau heritage if there is adequate information (e.g. building dimensions and material properties). The case study of Guia Chapel was modelled for information documentation and conservation. Besides, the structural behaviour and critical information of the model were obtained and discussed. Although current HBIM technology still has room for improvement, its unique features and advantages allow this technology to progressively become a principal approach in heritage management in the future.en_US
