dc.description.abstractCopper is already a well-used antibacterial agent serving in healthcare and medical sector. While using laser surface alloying as the fabrication method to alloy it onto AISI 316L is still a topic to be further investigated. Laser surface alloying of AISI 316L with copper under various processing conditions were studied in this project. The concentration and the depth of alloyed layer is in association with the scanning rate of laser. The results provided evidence of a promising performance of the selected method and materials.en_US
