Abstract: In this study, we investigated the properties of CDs compounded egg white hydrogel (ECH hydrogel), which has improved digestibility and exhibits adaptation to the in vivo degradation environment. This circumvents the need for material degradation before vascular ingrowth by providing a stably chemical-linked interconnected network of micropores, while simultaneously releasing valid bioactive molecules. The protein skeleton of the ECH hydrogel possesses extremely low immunogenicity and serves as a scaffold for cell growth, while exuded substances such as mannose have been demonstrated to recruit immune cells and promote vascular regeneration. Interestingly, we have found that the moderate foreign body rejection induced in the organism can actually promote the repair and activation of hair follicles, allowing them to re-enter the anagen phase from the resting phase. Additionally, the excellent water-locking effect, oil-absorbing properties, and nutrient-exuding characteristics of the ECH hydrogel make it a potential material for human skin care applications.
